The Measurement Practices Committee is pleased to issue version 4.0.1 of the COSMIC Measurement Manual. Once again, there are no changes in the Principles, Rules and Definitions of the method other than many editorial improvements aiming to improve understanding, and one correction of an error in v4.0 in the rules for ‘data movement uniqueness’ (which was first signalled in August 2014). A full list of all changes from v3.0 to v4.0 and from v4.0.1 is given in an Appendix.
We hope users of the COSMIC will find this version easier to understand. We anticipate that it will be the basis for updating the translations of the Measurement Manual into other languages.
