The Measurement Practices Committee is pleased to announce the availability of a new business application case study. The case was kindly provided by Capgemini UK and the measurement has been agreed with their collaboration.
This case differs from other COSMIC case studies in that the only documentation available is a series of screen shots of an installed on-line system. We assume that the original requirements are no longer available.
The case therefore illustrates several of the issues that must be considered when measuring some software after it has been installed. In particular, the case illustrates the need to consider possible ‘hidden functionality’ that may or may not be apparent from screen shots.
