The Rice Cooker case study has been completely re-written to make it easier to understand, and it has been expanded to include more functions. It is now available for download from Rice Cooker. The case study is of a simple real-time hardware/software system that illustrates well how to model hardware/software interactions for COSMIC functional sizing purposes.
The revision addresses some comments made by Professor Luigi Lavazza and a colleague from the University of Insubria, Italy, in a paper that looked at the case study from a UML viewpoint which is also available from the Knowledge Base.
