Two very interesting papers have just been published describing studies on COSMIC-measured projects.
The first, ‘Web Effort Estimation: Function Point Analysis vs. COSMIC’, describes an analysis of development effort for 25 industrial projects to develop web-sites versus their functional sizes measured by both COSMIC and by traditional FP Analysis. The results show a far-closer correlation between COSMIC sizes and effort than between FP sizes and effort.

The second, ‘Investigating Functional and Code Size Measures for Mobile Applications’, shows COSMIC sizes correlate well with code sizes in bytes for 13 Android apps using 7 different code size measures.
