The Course Registration case study (re-named as ‘C-Reg’) has been completely re-written. Version 2.0 is now available for free download from the Knowledge Base.
COSMIC first published the requirements plus an analysis and measurement of this case study more than 10 years ago. However, the requirements were typically not very clear, so multiple interpretations were possible. In spite of several revisions to clarify the requirements, it was never very easy to use for teaching purposes.
The Measurement Practices Committee decided to re-structure and re-write the case study completely to make it more suitable for teaching and as a real test of understanding of how to measure COSMIC sizes. Version 2.0 has been exhaustively reviewed and has been tested in a real teaching situation. Hopefully it is now free of ambiguities. The MPC would welcome any feedback.
